Proposed musical excerpt : "Unis vers Univers" for Cristal and orchestra
The Composer
Michel Deneuve
writes music for the theatre, dance, to accompany
poetry readings and for films, as well as compositions for solo intruments
or ensembles. The year 2000 saw the birth of the firts symphonic concerto
for several solo instruments, " Unis vers Univers" His interest in contempory music,
his classical training and his own musical preferences which encompass much more
than Western culture, create, in Michel Deneuve's compositions, a musical richess where
these various musical influences and trends exist side by side and complement each other
in perfect harmony. His music can be divided into three groups that are distinct as to
their objectives as well as their form :
- music for theatre and films,
- compositions for solo instrument or ensembles,
- music dedicated to the study of the Cristal.
"The latter makes use of all the musical forme which I feel justifies its didactic contribution,
resulting in an understanding of what the Cristal is, as well as providing a technical and
musical evolution for those who study the instrument. A musical instrument lives
and grows by being nourished essentially whith its own repertoire. Today,
the Cristal can respond to a wide variety of composers needs.
Writting for, or with, it will assure its existence in the
future. Its capacities and the purity of its sound
will certainly offer the world works
of great beauty"
The Cristalist
